New Program of Coffee & Occasional Tables Features Statement-Making Sculptural Base
(June 2014—Delanco, NJ) – Stylex is translating its timelessly elegant design into a new category: tables. The BA1 table, created for Stylex by Brad Ascalon, exhibits the rich sophistication for which the brand’s seating solutions are beloved and adds a contemporary twist with a sculptural, brushed aluminum base.
Designer Brad Ascalon explains, “We’re not trying to reinvent the table, just rewrite the language in which it’s being done. We’ve created a balance of interest and simplicity between the distinctive base and the more understated top.”
BA1 translates complex geometry intro a truly beautiful, truly sophisticated object that still performs suitably as a reliable table. Available in both coffee and occasional models, the curving base draws inspiration from the Sine Curve.
Stylex President John Golden notes, “There have, of course, been many great tables introduced over the years, but we believe that Stylex can add a valuable point of view to the market. BA1, in particular, has a subtle delicacy and sculptural element that makes it more than a mere table; we’re confident its confident presence will make it a unique standout in the contract market.”
BA1 is available as a coffee table (14.5” H with a 36” diameter top) and an occasional table (17.5” H with a 21” diameter top). BA1 has been designed to pass the X5.5-2014 BIFMA standard and earn a GREENGUARD Gold Certificate of Compliance, and the product is 100% recyclable. Its frame is stainless steel bar stock that has been laser-cut, welded, ground, and polished to form a seamless base. The top is ½” tempered glass.
